The Alliance Against Family Violence is a sexual and domestic violence victim advocacy organization that serves Leavenworth County, Kansas, the communities therein, and the Northeast Kansas region. AAFV is dedicated to facilitating an empowering positive change in the lives of those affected by domestic and sexual violence. Alliance Against Family Violence, LLC offers emergency shelter and advocacy services to victims of domestic or dating violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and stalking. We work with survivors building a safe and strategic plan so they can escape abuse, receive essential services, and rebuild their lives in a safe and confidential environment. Staffed with trained professionals who offer round-the-clock support and resource assistance, services include counseling, legal advocacy, assistance with accessing medical care, and accessing permanent housing.
1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men experience abuse by an intimate partner.
In 2021, Leavenworth County had 694 reports of domestic violence.
33.9% of Kansas women and 31.1% of Kansas men have experienced domestic violence.
1 in 15 children are exposed to intimate partner violence each year.
HOW WE CAN HELP
The Alliance offers many programs and resources to assist clients and survivors and their children get past their circumstances and get their lives back on track
Housing
The Alliance will provide emergency shelter for survivors and their children, while working together to find permanent housing.
Safety Planning
The Alliance assists survivors with creating plans to protect themselves and their children from abuse.
Legal Support
The Alliance Advocates will attend any court proceedings with survivors and provide mental and emotional support in person. Advocates will also assist with protection orders.
Resources
Beyond in house resources, the Alliance will connect survivors with outside resources including mental health help, clothing, food, and educational resources.

Join Our Sexual Assault Support Group
If you or someone you know has experienced sexual assault, healing can feel overwhelming—but you don’t have to go through it alone. Alliance Against Family Violence's confidential support group offers a safe, non-judgmental space where survivors can share, listen, and heal together. AAFV will begin hosting a bi-monthly Sexual Assault Support Group the first and third Tuesday of the month at 6pm. Please join Melissa for activities, and discussions like focusing on self-care and self-reflection.
